The Olešenka (German Alscherbach , also Goldbach or Gießhübler Goldbach ) is a left tributary of the Metuje in the Czech Republic .

course

The Olešenka rises in the forest area on the western slope of the Vrchmezí ( High Mense , 1084 m nm) or north of the Polomský kopec (1051 m nm) in the Eagle Mountains . The stream flows initially with a steep gradient between the Ostružník ( scratch Beer Stein , 982 m nm) and the Stenka ( Stenkaberg , 756 m nm) past the monolayer V Milířich ( fires ) through the valley Ruské údolí ( carbon trench ) to the northwest. In the bush village , where the Bělidlo brook coming from Horní Olešnice ( Obergießhübel ) joins, the Olešenka reaches Olešnice v Orlických horách and heads west. The further course of the brook leads in Olešnice through the town and through Dolní Olešnice ( Untergießhübel ).

The stream then turns to the southwest and flows through the Zelené údolí ( Green Valley ) base. Over a length of a good kilometer, the Olešenka forms the border stream between the Czech Republic and Poland ; the hamry ( Hammerhof ) and Zelené Údolí ( Green Valley ) settlements are on this section on the Czech side , the Tassau mill on the Silesian side, like most of the village of Taszów ( Tassau ), became extinct after the Second World War. Along its further course, which now runs through Czech territory again, in the Olešenka valley lie the small villages of Zelinkův Mlýn, Ohrada, Rzy, Na Skále, Končiny, Čížkův Mlýn, Dlouhé Rzy.

At Tis the Olešenka turns to the northwest and flows past the pilgrimage site Rokole, the villages of Šmelcovná, Nový Hrádek , Doly and the ruins of the Frymburk castle . On its lower reaches, the Olešenka flows through a deep, increasingly rocky valley between Mezilesí , Krahulčí and Sendraž . The narrow valley of the Olešenka between the hills Kozí hřbet (564 m nm), Na Vartě (618 m nm) and U Skále (574 m nm) is part of the nature reserve Peklo . The Olešenka flows on its lowest section south of Jizbice and flows into the Metuje in Peklo .

The Olešenka has a length of 20.4 km. Their average amount of water at the mouth is 0.48 m³ / s.

history

The water power of the Alscherbach was previously used to operate mills. At the end of the 19th century several small mechanical weaving mills were built in Gießhübel, Tassau, Dlouhé, Rzy, Tis and Nový Hrádek, but this was not possible on the lower reaches of the valley due to the narrow valley. After the February revolution of 1948, these private companies were shut down or forced to cease operations.
