Říkov , until 1990 Řikov ( German Rikow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northeast of Jaroměř and belongs to the Okres Náchod .
geography
Říkov is located on a hill on the left bank of the Úpa river opposite the confluence of the Válovický creek . To the east lies the Rozkoš reservoir . State road 33 runs in the north between Náchod and Jaroměř. To the southeast, the village is bypassed by the Jaroměř-Trutnov railway line , the Velká Jesenice railway station is one and a half kilometers south of Říkov.
Neighboring towns are Velký Třebešov , Malý Třebešov and Zájezd in the north, Malá Skalice and Česká Skalice in the northeast, Spyta in the east, Velká Jesenice in the southeast, Nový Dvůr and Volovka in the south, Doubravice u České Skalice in the southwest, Dolany in the west and Svinišťany in the north-west .
history
Říkov was first mentioned in 1366.
In 1837, Hermann Dietrich Lindheim built a large cotton spinning mill northeast of Rikow on Kleinskalitzer Fluren on the Aupa. After the abolition of patrimonial Řikov formed a parish in the Dvůr Králové nad Labem district from 1850. From 1880 the village was part of the Nové Město nad Metují district and was reclassified to the Náchod district at the end of the 19th century. After the Second World War, Řikov was reclassified to Okres Jaroměř. This was dissolved on January 1, 1961. In the course of this regional reform, Řikov became part of Česká Skalice in Okres Náchod. On November 24, 1990, the place name was changed to Říkov. At the beginning of 1993 the Říkov municipality was established.
To the south-east of the village in the direction of Velká Jesenice there is an industrial park by the railway. The factory premises of the Gondella CZ company are located on the state road to the east.
