Šeřeč (German Schertsch ) is a district of the municipality Provodov-Šonov in Okres Náchod in the Czech Republic.

geography

Šeřeč

Šeřeč is located about seven kilometers southwest of Náchod . Neighboring towns are Kleny in the north, Vysokov and Václavice in the northeast, Provodov in the east and Šonov in the southeast. In the west is the Rozkoš reservoir , to the northeast is the forest area "Mnichovec" (monk's forest ) .

history

Šeřeč was first mentioned in 1213 under its original name "Nesvačilov" or "Neswachilow". At that time, the Bohemian King Ottokar I Přemysl gave it to the monks of the Břevnov monastery together with Provodov and the Politzer Sprengel . They were commissioned to first colonize the Politz area and then the area of Braunau , which at that time still belonged to the Glatzer Land . After the market was transferred from Provodov to Politz under King Ottokar II Přemysl , Nesvačilov also lost its importance. Presumably for this reason the monks and Provodov gave it to the Kłodzko burgrave Benesch von Wartenberg ( Beneš z Vartenberka ) in 1305 for a lifelong usufruct . In 1351 King Charles IV confirmed the donation to the Břevnov Monastery by King Ottokar I Přemysl and his successors. During the Hussite Wars , Nesvačilov, as well as Provodov and Dobenín, were burned to the ground . The place name Šeřeč is documented for the first time in 1406, namely in the spelling "Sserzecz".

1530 sold the monastery Břevnov Nesvačilov / Šeřeč together Provodov to the owner of the new town , Vojtěch / Adalbert von Pernstein . He parceled out the land of the largely depopulated villages since the Hussite Wars and leased it to new settlers who were obliged to do labor . Until the abolition of patrimonial Šeřeč remained connected with the rule Nové Město / New Town and was parish there.

From 1849, Šeřeč and Domkov formed a municipality in the New Town judicial district. In 1854 a school was built in Šeřeč. In 1851 Šeřeč consisted of 22 houses with 137 inhabitants. From 1868 the municipality of Šeřeč belonged to the New Town District. After the repeal of the Okres Nové Město nad Metují, Šeřeč was assigned to the Okres Náchod in 1948. In 1961 Šeřeč (with Kleny and Domkov ) was incorporated into Provodov.

In the years 1960–1970 all houses on the western edge of Šeřeč, as well as the entire village of Domkov, were sacrificed and demolished for the construction of the Rozkoš reservoir ( Vodní nádrž Rozkoš ). In 1991, Šeřeč had 16 inhabitants. In the 2001 census, the place consisted of 11 houses in which 18 people lived. As of January 28, 2016, there were 16 buildings with one house number in Šeřeč.
