Japan Foundation Translator Award

The Japan Foundation Translator Prize is a literary prize that has been awarded since 1999 by the Japanese Cultural Institute in Cologne , the German representative of the Japan Foundation , for outstanding translations from Japanese . The prize is endowed with 5000 euros and was initially awarded annually and now for two consecutive years for a literary translation and every third year for the translation of a non-fiction book. The award is made by a jury made up of Japanese and German experts.
