Ütschenteich
Ütschenteich is the name of a stagnant body of water in Wernigerode am Harz , which lies directly on the border with the town of Ilsenburg (Harz) , district Darlingerode . It has been classified as an area natural monument (FND 0022WR).
The pond originally belonged to the pond system of the Himmelpforten Monastery, which was destroyed in the Peasants' War . In autumn 2019 the pond was drained (the drainage is in the direction of Rammelsbach and Ilse ) in order to remove sludge and dead aquatic plants.
