Þórir Jónsson (born August 22, 1926 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic ski racer .

Career

Þórir Jónsson was born in the capital Reykjavík. At the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz in 1948 , Þórir took part in the downhill race on February 2 , which he finished after 4: 47.0 min as 96th of 111 runners who had started. Two days later in the slalom competition , the Icelander reached 58th place after two runs among 67 participants (1: 57.0 min and 1: 20.5 min). In the combined ranking, which was a point addition of the downhill runs and the two slalom runs, Þórir was the second best Icelander (behind Magnús Brynjólfsson and before Guðmundur Guðmundsson ) with 89.40 points.
