Dirch Passer 1974

Dirch Hartvig Passer (born May 18, 1926 in Copenhagen-Østerbro , Denmark , † September 3, 1980 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish actor and popular film comedian from the 1950s to the 70s.

Live and act

Passer made his stage debut in 1946 in the play " Sekskammerater " and received his acting training at the Frederiksberg Theater in Copenhagen in 1946/47. He then went on tour through the Danish provinces. In 1949 he returned to Copenhagen to fulfill an obligation at the ABC theater. He remained loyal to this stage until 1962. He quickly developed a great talent for comic material, at the theater the tabloid comedy became his preferred subject, but Passer also appeared again and again in variety revues such as the famous Cirkusrevyen ( Dyrehavsbakken ). Together with his colleague Kjeld Petersen , he formed a popular comedian duo from 1955 to 1958.

Dirch Passer was in front of the camera for the first time as early as 1947, and has also made several film guest appearances in Sweden. Especially in the 1950s and 60s he was one of the most popular comic actor in Scandinavia, "the intensive facial expressions, often in very simple knitted comedies the sensuous and embodied sometimes a little clumsy-simple-minded average Dane." In 1974 he was knighted 1st Class of the Order of the Dannebrog appointed .

He was able to land some great successes at the side of his comedian colleague Ove Sprogøe in a series of productions for the production company Saga. Occasional excursions into the character subject like in the films "Gøngehøvdingen" and "Venus fra Vestø" were far less successful and flopped at the box office. Occasionally Dirch Passer stepped in front of the television camera; the older German audience may remember him with a sketch in which he played a cigarette junkie as a partner of Rudi Carrell on his show Amlauf Band 1978, who is desperately trying to quit smoking.

On September 3, 1980, he collapsed during a revue at Tivoli and died of cardiac arrest at around 9:20 p.m. in Copenhagen City Hospital after several attempts at resuscitation the same day. He was buried in the Dragør Kirke cemetery in Dragør near Copenhagen.

In August 2011, the film Dirch about the life and career of Dirch Passer was presented to the public in Denmark . The film was directed by Martin Zandvliet and the main role of Dirch Passers was played by Nikolaj Lie Kaas (son of actor Preben Kaas ), who was awarded the Robert in the category Best Actor in 2012. Furthermore, with this film, the actor Lars Ranthe in the role of Kjeld Petersen was awarded the Bodil in the category Best Supporting Actor .

family

Passer was the brother of the actresses Marchen Passer and Kirsten Passer . Overall he was married twice, from 1950 to 1959 with the actress Sigrid Horne-Rasmussen and from 1970 to 1976 with the illustrator and artist Hanne Bjerregaard Pedersen . From these two marriages he each had a daughter, Dorte Passer and Josephine Passer . Then he also had another relationship, he lived for five years with fellow actor Judy Gringer .
