action

Old Man Johnson found gold on his land and the evil O'Hara gang stole it from him. The two are feuding over gold, property and love down to the blood. Then comes Biggy, a bully, promoted to sheriff, and his three other great prairie boys with whom he usually drinks, shoots, beats, and loves, and who ride ponies; they now clarify who is corrupt and uses unconventional means to ensure that the gold vein remains with the rightful owner. When they finally have the bandits in Greenville Court, the judge is corrupt, so that a mass brawl instigated must help the law to victory.

criticism

The lexicon of international film couldn't laugh ; it is a "failed Danish attempt to parody the spaghetti western. Just rough-hewn gossip. ” Joe Hembus found, in the way in which the prairie clothes are thrown down here, the suspicion that the Danish makers“ only wanted to make a little fun of the hectic western work of the rest of the continent ”.

Remarks

The film coined the Danish word creation "potato westerns " for westerns produced in Denmark . In the film, the songs Sally's Song , sung by Eva Danné , Venner venner by Karl Stegger and the title song, performed by the four main actors, can be heard. It premiered on August 31, 1970.

In the following year the sequel Guld til præriens skrappe drenge appeared .
