Preben Kaas

Preben Kaas (born March 30, 1930 in Aalborg , † March 27, 1981 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish actor , comedian and screenwriter .

Career

Kaas first trained as a film editor at Nordisk Film . After his first film appearances in the 1940s, he was assistant director at Nordisk Film from 1955 , and between 1965 and 1967 he was director of the ABC Theater in Copenhagen. In addition, he was known as a performer in revues , especially as the director of Cirkusrevy .

He became known to German viewers primarily through two Olsen Gang films in which he played Dynamit Harry , Benny's eternally drunk brother and explosives expert. For Die Olsenbande in der Klemme he received the Danish film award Bodil in 1970 for best male supporting actor; In 1973 he played the dynamite Harry again in The Olsen Gang Runs Amok . He was also seen in the 1971 film The Olsen Gang goes to Jutland as Betterøv, the mute assistant to the scrap dealer Mads Madsen.

Preben Kaas drove his car in the Kalkbrænderihavnen (part of the northern harbor) in Copenhagen on March 27, 1981 and drowned. He was buried in Søndermark Kirkegård in Frederiksberg .
