Jesper Klein (born November 13, 1944 in Næstved ; † August 22, 2011 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish actor .

Life

Klein originally had the desire to become a musician, also began studying and working as a bar pianist, but turned to acting in 1968. Without a classical education in this profession he already had great success in 1969 when he played on stage in Camel Lady and interpreted the title role in the film Balladen om Carl-Henning , for which he also received the Danish film award Bodil . From now on he was a popular actor in mostly comic roles for film and, primarily, for television. He particularly often accepted offers for children's and youth programs. In 1974 he formed the musical comic trio Avocets with Tom McEwan and Jess Ingerslev . In 1984 Klein received a Robert for his role in Dear Father, I'm Sixteen (Skønheden og udyret).

In addition to his acting skills, Klein was also booked as a dubbing voice for numerous characters, which he did justice to with a wide range of vocal interpretations; including numerous animation and puppet films . Klein was also in demand as a narrator.

In his private life, Klein was involved in the peace movement and was a UNICEF ambassador .

Klein was married to actress Lykke Nielsen for 37 years until her death.
