Lars Ranthe (born August 26, 1969 in Vesterbro , Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor .

biography

Lars Ranthe is the son of the typesetter Per Ranthe and the porcelain painter Jytte Ranthe. He grew up in Vesterbro and Amager . After graduating from school, he lived in the French Alps for five years before he trained as an actor at the Odense Teater until 1998 . He finally made his theatrical debut in 1999 in the small play Mor og barn at the Rialto Teatret . In the following years he played increasingly in the theater and was seen in smaller roles in television and film productions such as Okay , Danish Delicacies and Adam's Apples . He had his big breakthrough in 2008 with his portrayal of the main character Jakob Sommer in the television series Sommer . For his portrayal of actor Kjeld Petersen in the biography Dirch , Ranthe was awarded both a Robert for Best Supporting Actor and a Bodil for Best Supporting Actor in 2012. Ranthe is also active in animation films as a Danish voice actor.

Ranthe is married to actress Christine Albeck Børge , with whom he has two daughters.
