The Pact ( Danish original title: Pagten ) is a 24-part Danish youth and fairy tale series by director Jesper W. Nielsen , which was shown daily as a Scandinavian Christmas series from December 1, 2009 on Denmark's public television . Following the example of the British broadcaster Channel 4 , each episode was accompanied by a browser game that was continuously activated . The channel DR1 achieved an average audience rating of 37 percent in the first week of broadcast. The pre-Christmas series was broadcast for the first time in parallel in HD . All episodes were available in full length and high resolution on the station's website immediately after they were broadcast. In Germany it was first broadcast on arte in November 2012.

The twelve year old Malte is an outsider. He is bullied and suppressed at school. He withdraws into his world of little gnomes, the so-called nissers . A Christmas drama about an evil ice witch who wants to wipe out all the elves forever and who plays a bad game with people. Only a secret pact that humans and elves made hundreds of years ago can save the elves. With the onset of Advent, the elf girl Lyda has to hide with her father and older brother in the school's warm boiler room. Meanwhile, her mother tries to prevent the evil Iselin from gaining power over the pixies. Malte is particularly noticeable among the children at school. Malte and Lyda should renew the pact and defeat the ice witch.

The German dubbing was created under the dialogue direction by Luise Charlotte Brings and Thomas Maria Lehmann by the dubbing company Studio Hamburg Synchron GmbH in Hamburg .
