Magnús Brynjólfsson (born June 5, 1923 in Akureyri , † December 6, 1976 ibid) was an Icelandic ski racer .

Career

Magnús Brynjólfsson came from the northern Icelandic city of Akureyri. At the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz , Magnús took part in the downhill race on February 2 , which he finished after 3: 48.2 minutes as 64th of 111 runners who had started. Two days later in the slalom competition , the Icelander reached 49th place after two runs among 67 participants (1: 39.0 min and 1: 28.7 min). In the combined ranking, which was a point addition of the downhill runs and the two slalom runs, Magnús was the best Icelander (ahead of Þórir Jónsson and Guðmundur Guðmundsson ) in 48th place with 52.76 points.

Magnús Brynjólfsson died at the age of 53 in his hometown.
