The vehicles of the ČSD series T 212.0 (from 1988: series 702 ) were diesel-mechanical shunting locomotives of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD).

history

In the second half of the 1960s this locomotive was developed by ČKD and in 1967–1971 by Turčianske strojárne n. P. built in Martin . The locomotive has been developed from the T 211.0 and, like it, is intended for easy shifting of stations, shunting in depots and works railways.

In addition to the ČSD, this locomotive was delivered in various designs for various companies and for export (GDR, China, Bulgaria, Egypt, USSR, Poland, Romania, Albania, Iraq, India and Hungary).

technical features

The machine is powered by a twelve-cylinder, four-stroke TATRA 930-51 diesel engine. The control works as a direct control from the throttle lever to the diesel injection pump. The M 150-4 mechanical four-speed gearbox from ČKD works according to the Mylius system . The gears are preselected and the power transmission in the respective gear is ensured via claws. The transmission of the torque to the axles is ensured by cardan shafts.

The locomotive has an indirect brake based on the Westinghouse system , a direct-acting auxiliary brake and a handbrake. The indirect brake is controlled by the Škoda N / O brake valve , and two additional brake valves are available in the driver's cab for the direct-acting brake. Both axles of the locomotives are braked with block brakes on both sides . The handbrake, which is chain-driven by a handwheel on the rear of the driver's cab, acts on both axles. The compressed air required for the brake and auxiliary air system is compressed by the Atmos W 115/80 compressor and stored in 2 main air tanks of 300 l (p = 8 bar) and an auxiliary air tank of 25 l.

Narrow gauge variant

The TU 29.1 series , which is now referred to as the 702.9 series , was created through reconstruction to the 760 mm and 1000 mm gauge .
