Častolowitz (noble family)
The Bohemian noble family von Častolowitz (also: Tschastolowitz, Czastolowitz ; Czech: z Častolovic ) is known for the 14th and 15th centuries.
The noble family of Častolowitz originally owned other possessions in Eastern Bohemia in addition to the Častolowitz reign of the same name . There is no evidence of their origin; it is believed that they were a branch of the Hrabischitzer . In the 14th and 15th centuries, the following family members achieved important political positions:
- Puta d. Ä. von Častolowitz († 1397), governor of the Glatzer country , burgrave of Pottenstein , captain of Brandenburg and captain of Luxembourg. His son:
- Puta d. J. von Častolowitz († 1434), governor of Glatz, Frankenstein and Münsterberg. Made great merits in the fight against the Hussites. With Puta d. J. The Častolowitz family died out in the male line. His daughter Salome married Wilhelm von Troppau . Puta's widow Anna married the Hussite captain Hynek Kruschina von Lichtenburg for the second time .
