Đông Hà
Đồng Hà is the capital of the province of Quảng Trị .
Đồng Hà, is on the Cam Lo River. The city itself has no sights or meaning, but plays an important role as a junction to Laos . The border with Laos is about 80 km to the west from here.
Đồng Hà served as the base of the US Army during the Vietnam War . In the course of the so-called Easter Offensive (also: Nguyễn Huệ Offensive), the city was almost completely destroyed in 1972. The end of the war brought to light the total destruction of the region. Because of the lack of sights, the city is now only the starting point for excursions to Khe Sanh and the DMZ (see Vietnam War).
