İbrahim Karagül

Ibrahim Karagül (* 1969 in the village in the district Sinlice Şalpazarı , Province Trabzon ) is a Turkish journalist and chief editor of the daily newspaper Yeni Şafak and the news channel TVNET .

Life

Karagül studied law at the University of September 9 in Izmir . In 1995 he came to the then newly founded Islamic daily Yeni Şafak . He worked in the newsroom and became head of the international department . In 2011 he took over the editor-in-chief of TVNET, which is also part of the Albayrak Holding , and the following year he took over the same post at Yeni Şafak .

meaning

Karagül is considered a confidante of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan , whom he often accompanies on trips abroad. His columns are repeatedly quoted in foreign media. The Tagesspiegel writes about Karagül that he represents "sometimes very steep theses".
