İlhan Akoğuz

İlhan Akoğuz (* 1937 in Uluborlu , Isparta Province ) is a former Turkish major general of the army (Türk Kara Kuvetleri) .

Life

After attending school, Akoğuz began an officer training at the Army School (Kara Harp Okulu) , which he completed in 1957 as an ensign (Asteğmen) . According to various uses as an officer in the army units he graduated from the Army Academy (Kara Harp Akademisi) and, after its completion in 1971 Captain (Binbaşı) in the bar service as well as other army units before 1979 to 1981 as a military attaché at the embassy in the People's Republic of China was active . After his return in 1981 he became the commander of the 54th Panzer Regiment belonging to the 61st Infantry Division and was then Chief of Staff of the VII Corps between 1982 and 1984.

After his promotion to Brigadier General (Tuğgeneral) Akoğuz was in 1984 commander of the National Security and Armed Forces Academy (Millî Güvenlik ve Silahlı Kuvvetler Akademisi) and then in 1986 commander of the 14th Mechanized Brigade stationed in Kars . After he was promoted to major general (Tümgeneral) in 1988 , he initially took over the post of commander of the 3rd Mechanized Division stationed in Edirne , before he was then in 1990 commander of the Central Cartography Command (Harita Genel Komutanlığı) . He held this post until his retirement on August 30, 1992.

Akoğuz, who is married and has two children, speaks English as well as Turkish .
