Łukasz Surma (born June 28, 1977 in Krakow ) is a former Polish football player and today's coach . He is the record player in the domestic Ekstraklasa with 559 games played .
Club career
Surma began his career in his native town near Wisła Krakow . In the 1996/97 season he made his debut for the club in the Ekstraklasa . In 1998 he moved to the record champions Ruch Chorzów . Here he became a regular player. For the second half of the 2002/03 season he was obliged by the Polish club KP Legia Warsaw . Here he became the captain of the team and national team player over the years . For the 2007/08 season he moved abroad to Israel to Maccabi Haifa . Here he completed only one season game due to injury and moved to the second half of the season to league rivals Hapoel Bnei Sakhnin . Here he completed 30 league games. In 2008 he moved to Austria for VfB Admira Wacker Mödling . After six games in Mödling , he returned to Poland and signed a contract with Lechia Gdańsk in January 2009 . There he was appointed in 2010 to succeed the captain Karol Piątek , who had switched to Nieciecza KS . Surma completed a total of 125 league games for Lechia in five seasons and scored three goals. For the 2013/14 season he went back to his former club Ruch Chorzów. He ended his career in the summer of 2018 as a player- coach at the fifth division Watra Białka Tatrzańska .
