Šimon Jurovský
Šimon Jurovský (born February 8, 1912 in Ulmanka , † November 8, 1963 in Prague ) was a Slovak composer.
Jurovský studied at the Bratislava Music Academy from 1931 to 1936 and was a student of Joseph Marx in Vienna from 1943 to 1944 }. Until 1956 he was head of the music department of the Slovak Radio and then head of the opera of the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava . He composed an opera, a ballet, two symphonies, an organ, a cello and a piano concerto, two orchestral suites, a serenade for strings , a symphonic poem, chamber music works, two piano suites, cantatas, song cycles and folk song arrangements , drama and film scores.
