Ahmed Alsoudani

Ahmed Alsoudani (* 1975 Arabic أحمد السوداني in Baghdad ) is an American painter who moved to Berlin-Kreuzberg in 2009 .

As a young man of 19 years, he fled Iraq to Damascus in 1995 , where he discovered his passion for painting. After moving to the USA in 1999, he studied art at the Maine College of Art with a BFA in 2006. He graduated from Yale University in 2008 with an MFA in painting.

His first group exhibition took place in 2007 in Manhattan . Since that time he has varied his torn depiction of living beings and things. His work attracts attention and customers in galleries in the United States and Europe, and is valued in the Middle East.

The New York gallery Goff + Rosenthal financed his move to Berlin in 2009 and rented an apartment and studio for him.
