The Švyturio Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda . The sports arena is located on Dubysos g. 10 , between Baltijos Prospect and Dubysa Street. It is the home ground of the Neptūnas Klaipėda ( BBL , LKL ) basketball team . It offers a maximum of 7,450 places.
history
The construction of the arena was financed with Lt 20 million from the state investment program and Lt 40 million from the EU structural fund; the balance from the Klaipėda City Council. The project authors are the joint stock company “Miestprojektas” ( Kaunas ) and UAB “Forma” ( Vilnius ); the project manager is Saulius Mikštas (UAB "Forma"). The construction company was UAB “Vėtrūna” ( Telšiai ).
In 2011, European basketball championships were held here.
