こ , in Hiragana , or コ in Katakana , are Japanese characters of the Kana system , both of which represent a Mora . In modern Japanese alphabetical sorting , they are in tenth place. The こ is also the 33rd letter in the Iroha , directly after the ふ and before え . The form of both kana is derived from the kanji 己 and both represent [ko] .
