in hiragana or in katakana ( romanized a ) is one of the Japanese kana that represents a mora . あ is based on the sōsho style of the Kanji安, ア is derived from the radical of the Kanji 阿. In modern Japanese alphabetical sorting , it comes first, before the い. It is also the 36th letter in the Iroha , immediately after the て and before the さ. The Hiragana includes the Kana no in combination with a cross. The Unicode for あ is U + 3041 and for ア is U + 30A2. The symbols represent the [a] .

Derivation

The katakana ア derives from the kanji via man'yōgana . The Hiragana あ is derived from the Kanji .

The hiragana あ is drawn with three lines :

  1. Above a horizontal line from left to right.
  2. A vertical line from the top in the middle of the first line down.
  3. At the bottom a loop like the hiragana .

  1. Above, a line from a horizontal line from left to right, continued by a shorter diagonal line in the opposite direction.
