.int

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

.int is a generic top-level domain (gTLD), which is aimed exclusively at international organizations . It was set up on November 3, 1988 and is the only top-level domain administered by the IANA itself.

The basis for .int is set out in RFC 1591 (Domain Name System Structure and Delegation) . After its introduction, NATO gave up its own TLD .nato , so that it was finally switched off in 1998. European Union organizations are increasingly using the .eu extension instead of .int .
