The 1. FC Schöneberg 1913 is a German football club from Berlin-Schöneberg . It was created in 1991 from a merger of the clubs VfL Schöneberg 1930 and SpVgg Schöneberg 1913 . Home of the club is the Vorarlberger Damm sports complex , which can accommodate 1000 spectators.

VfL Schöneberg

VfL Schöneberg was created in 1930 from a merger of the clubs Fichte 1919 Charlottenburg , TSV Schöneberg and FT Schöneberg and operated until 1933 under the name of youth, gymnastics and hiking movement 1930 Schöneberg . From 1934, the club playing on the Monumentenstrasse sports field (now BSC Kickers 1900 ) appeared as VfL Schöneberg , but remained insignificant in Berlin until 1945.

In 1945 the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Schöneberg-Süd . Schöneberg-Süd played in the Landesliga Berlin after the end of the war, but the leap into the Berlin City League was missed. The most successful sporting times of the club, which played again as VfL Schöneberg from 1949, were the 1950s and 1960s, in which the Berliners played a total of six seasons in the Berlin amateur league . The 1968/69 season was to be VfL's last season in higher-class West Berlin local football, in which Schöneberg was relegated together with VfB Hermsdorf and SC Gatow .
