society
The SC Gatow was founded in 1931 under the name Gatower SV . The Gatower SV, which was always in the lower class until 1945, had no outstanding successes in Berlin football until the end of World War II. In 1945 the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Gatow .
SG Gatow initially played no important role in Berlin even after the end of the war, and participation in the Berlin City League was missed. In 1949 the name was changed to SC Gatow . The most successful times in sport began in the early sixties, when SC Gatow was promoted to the Berlin amateur league. In the opening season Gatow was runner-up behind Viktoria 89 Berlin , but failed to qualify for the Berlin Regional Football League at the BFC Südring . Two seasons later, the rise in Regionalliga Berlin was still successful, but the SCG had no chance in the 1965/66 season , and rose together with the SC Tegel back into the amateur league.
After relegation from the amateur league in 1969, SC Gatow reported back in 1980 in the Berlin Football League . The then third highest German league held the SCG with two interim relegations until 1991. In the following period, the club was integrated into the Oberliga Nordost from 1991 , but rose again after just one season, just behind FSV Velten . Gatow was only able to hold two seasons in the Berlin Association League and was relegated to the State League. Analogous to other former higher-class clubs like SV Norden-Nordwest or BFC Meteor 06 , SC Gatow also disappeared from the higher-class Berlin local football. In the 2008/09 season, the club was national league champions of season 1 and thus rose to the highest Berlin division, the sixth-class Berlin league . There you had to relegate to the national league in 2015.
