David Sánchez Rodríguez (born January 25, 1982 in Seville ) is a Spanish football player who plays for FC Orihuela in the Spanish Tercera División .

Player career

The beginnings

David Sánchez played in his youth for Sevilla FC from his hometown. Then he went to the B team of FC Barcelona , where he was considered a promising talent. After three years with the B-Team and a few short appearances in the first team, David Sánchez went to first division promoted Albacete Balompié in the summer of 2003 . There he had his most successful time, as he was able to play in the Primera División for two years with his new team.

Promotion and relegation battle

After the relegation of Albacete David Sánchez went to the promoted Deportivo Alavés . After an unsuccessful streak, the midfielder turned his back on the Basques and went back to the second division Albacete. There he had a regular place for the next year and a half before moving to the ambitious first division relegated Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the summer of 2007 . There he could not assert himself. The club fought in the 2007/08 season to stay in the class.

Change to Romania

In the summer of 2008, Sánchez moved to FC Timișoara in the Romanian League 1 . There he came in the first half of the 2008/09 season only for a short time and was not in the squad in the other games. The club loaned him to league rival Gloria Buzau in early 2009 . There he was used more often, but his team was at the bottom of the table and relegated at the end of the season.

Return to Spain

In the summer of 2009, Sánchez left Romania and returned to his home country, where he joined CD Castellón . There he was not once in the roster and could not prevent the relegation of his team. He then moved to FC Elche , where he mostly played as a substitute in the 2010/11 season . With his team he missed promotion to the play-offs.

Transfer to the Segunda División B

In the summer of 2011 he was hired by Atlético Baleares in the Segunda División B to. The 2011/12 season he won the group with his team and missed promotion to the play-offs. The following season he finished with his club in midfield. In the summer of 2013 he returned to his former club Gimnàstic de Tarragona, which now also played in Segunda B. He finished the group with his team in fourth place and was only defeated in the play-offs in the final. He left the club after only one season and moved within the league to UD Melilla. The 2014/15 season was his most successful with 13 goals. At the end of 2015, he moved to league rival FC Cádiz , with whom he was promoted to the Segunda División. However, he was not used there and returned to Atlético Baleares at the end of August 2016. At the beginning of 2017 he was hired by Real Murcia . At the end of the season he missed promotion with his new team as well as in the play-offs in the 2017/18 season.

The last few years

In the summer of 2018, Sánchez left Murcia and moved to Orihuela FC in the Tercera División .
