The 1. FV Bebra is a German sports club from the Hessian Bebra . Home of the club is the Biberkampfbahn , the club was founded in 1911 and played briefly in the then first-class Hessen district league in the 1920s . Today the FV competes in a syndicate in the Fulda Nord regional league.

history

The club was founded as FC Sport in January 1911 and did not get its current name until 1918. The greatest success in the club's history to date was achieved in the seasons of the West German football championship in 1922/23 and 1923/24 with participation in the top division, the Hessen District League. However, only two plus points were scored in both seasons.

At the beginning of the thirties the club was renamed VfL Reichsbahn Bebra and competed in the club cup in 1939 against the Gauliga participant SV Kurhessen Kassel , which was lost 3-2.

After the end of the Second World War, they started again as 1st FV Bebra and strengthened themselves with good footballers from the then numerous refugees from the eastern German regions who were stranded at Bebra train station . After all, the club was a founding member of the newly founded Kurhessenliga .

In 1947, the promotion to the newly founded regional league Fulda was missed by one point, but was achieved a year later (now Landesliga Hessen ). The unsuccessful time in Hesse's top division was interrupted by victories against Viktoria Aschaffenburg and SV Wiesbaden . It was followed by relegation to the 2nd amateur league . The promotion was missed in 1952 in the promotion round against the SpVgg Olympia Kassel .

After little noticeable years, the FV was a founding member of the Group League North in 1965. Third place was achieved in the 1966/67 season.

From 1975 there was a permanent crisis and finally the descent into the district class. In the years 1978 to 1984 the national league was reached for the last time. Then there was a crash into the district league. The downward spiral could be briefly interrupted in the 1990s when a local patron invested in the club and the district league could be reached again. With the bankruptcy of the patron, however, the descent of FV Bebra went hand in hand, which in 1998 was relegated from the district league and after a longer period in the district league in the 2009/10 season in the district league A.

Since the 2010/2011 season, the FV Bebra has formed the FSG Bebra football team with the district clubs FC Gilfershausen and SC Asmushausen / Braunhausen . In the first year of its existence, the FSG rose to the regional league.
