The 1st PBC Meran Klagenfurt is a billiards club from Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . He was three times Austrian champion in pool .
history
The 1st PBC Meran Klagenfurt was founded in 1976. In 1982 he won the title for the first time at the second edition of the Austrian team championship in pool . A year later, he successfully defended his title in 14/1 . In 1985 the club became Austrian champions for the third time. In the 2007/08 season, the PBC Meran was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . After they managed to stay sixth in the 2008/09 season , two points ahead of their descending city rivals BC Standard Klagenfurt , relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga followed in the 2009/10 season with seventh place . As seventh of the following season, they were relegated to the third-class Carinthian League A, in which they achieved direct promotion with first place in the 2011/12 season. In the second division, which has now been renamed the Regionalliga, the club initially finished third and sixth, before narrowly missing out on promotion in the 2014/15 season as runner-up, two points behind ASKÖ Taxenbach . In the 2016/17 season , they achieved first place seven points ahead of the second-placed club Pools Graz , but renounced promotion to the Bundesliga.
In 1982, Florian Antonitsch and Siegfried Brommer became Austrian singles champions for the first time in the PBC Meran Klagenfurt . A year later Egon Puntigam succeeded in doing this , and in 1984 Rosmarie Antonitsch . Six other players from the club became Austrian champions in singles; Alexander Wanner and Karl Hanscho for the men, Claudia Hechenbichler and Sandra Baumgartner for the women and Alfred Gassinger and Arno Malle for the seniors. Siegfried Brommer and Karl Hanscho won not only their men's titles but also the Austrian senior championship as players of the PBC Merano.
Second team
The second team of the PBC Meran Klagenfurt only narrowly missed promotion to the regional league in 2009 and 2010 when they came second in the Carinthian League A. In the 2010/11 season she was seventh, while the third team, also playing in the Carinthian League A, reached first place. Due to the relegation of the first team, the second played in the fourth-class Carinthian League B in the 2011/12 season, in which they achieved direct promotion with second place. In the 2012/13 season she was fourth in the Carinthian League A. Sixth place followed a year later and fifth place in 2015, before being relegated to the Carinthian State League B in seventh place in 2016.
