The BC Standard Klagenfurt (officially: Billiard Club Standard Klagenfurt ) is a billiards club from Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . In 1983 he became Austrian champion in the 8-ball pool discipline .

history

The BC Standard Klagenfurt was founded in 1978. Five years later he became Austrian champion in the 8-ball discipline .

In the 2007/08 season , the BC Standard reached second place in the 2nd Bundesliga, one point behind the 1st PBC Meran Klagenfurt and thus rose to the 1st Bundesliga . In the following season , however, they rose again in seventh place. In the 2009/10 season they reached first place in the second division with only one defeat and thus managed to gain direct promotion. With just four points, the club finished eighth in the Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season and was relegated to the second division, now renamed Regionalliga, in which a year later, with seventh place, another relegation followed. In the 2012/13 season, the BC Standard competed in the fourth-class Carinthian League B and took third place there. In the following season, Klagenfurt was the first to make it to the Carinthian League A, which was followed by promotion to the regional league in 2015 with 14 wins from 14 games. In the 2015/16 season they were relegated to eighth place in the national league.

In 1990, Kurt Schaus became the first BC Standard player to become Austrian champions in singles . He won the senior 9-ball title and successfully defended it a year later. Gerda Hofstätter won all three women's titles in 1994 as a player of the club (8-ball, 9-ball and 14/1 endless ). Three years later, Kurt Schaus became the Austrian senior champion in 14/1 endless.
