1000 km to the sea is the first studio album by the German pop group Luxuslärm , released on October 3rd, 2008 .
The singles 1000 km to the sea and Immortal reached chart positions in the top 100 in Germany. The album was voted the best German-language album at the German Rock and Pop Prize , the song Immortal the best German-language song of 2008. The album was produced by Götz from Sydow. By 2010, 40,000 albums had been sold. The song 1000 km to the sea is used by the Goethe-Institut as an example of German pop culture .

For Tobias Winkler from cdstarts.de, the music is “shallow, average pop rock to sing along to and listen to” and criticizes it as “flat” and notes: “Unfortunately, the pseudo-intellectual texts can't tear much either”. The music style is classified between the music groups Evanescence , Die Happy and the Guano Apes and the album is rated as "very smooth and mainstream produced". Elektrolurch.de describes it as an “appealing pop / rock album with which” the band “could make the breakthrough.” Popfrontal praises the album as “fine music”.
