10 Marie
The 10er Marie in the 16th Viennese district Ottakring opposite the Old-Ottakring Parish Church is the oldest taverns in Vienna and is one of the most famous wine taverns of Vienna, outside the famous wine villages of Grinzing , Sievering and Neustift am Walde . The Buschenschank was mentioned in a document as early as 1740.
The wine tavern was originally owned by the Haimböck family. The name is derived on the one hand from the address ( Alt-Ottakring No. 10), on the other hand from the landlord's daughter Maria.
The legendary landlady Käthe Musil , who ran the Buschenschank for around forty years until 1986, made it a meeting place for prominent guests from politics and society. After the Neustift wine-growing family Fuhrgassl-Huber bought the "10er Marie" from the bankruptcy estate of Tafelspitz AG, it was restored, merged with the Heuriger next to it and reopened on May 25, 1993.
