122 Leadenhall Street , also simply called Leadenhall Building , is a high-rise building with a height of 225 m in the London financial district of the City of London . Its wedge-shaped appearance gave the building the popular name Cheesegrater ( English for cheese grater ).
A special feature of the Leadenhall Building is that it consists of 85% prefabricated parts; the central concrete core usually found in skyscrapers is omitted.
The Leadenhall Building is the third tallest skyscraper in London. If you look at the height with antenna, the Heron Tower measures 230 m and displaces the Leadenhall Building in fourth place. The high-rise offers office space for well-known companies such as Aon or the insurance company Amlin . The architecture firm Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners, which is itself responsible for the construction of the skyscraper, also moved its headquarters to the 14th floor of the building.
