description

It is the corner house at the junction of the High Shore and Carmelite Street in the historic center of Banff. Opposite are the ruins of the former parish church , St Mary's Church . The building erected in 1675 is considered a well-preserved example of a contemporary merchant's house. Around 1970 it was restored by the Banff Preservation Society .

The Harl- plastered facade of the three-story building are three axles along High Shore and two axles along Carmelite Street. The natural stone-framed building openings are offset. The simple entrance door is in the middle along the high shore. Lattice windows are irregularly embedded, which are continued on the top floor as portholes over the eaves. A corner tour with small windows and a conical roof at the end protrudes from the edge of the building . A four-story stair tower emerges from the rear facade. Skylights are embedded in the final slate-covered roof. The ridge closes with a ceramic cap.
