There are two residential buildings at 2–5 La Belle Place in the Scottish city of Glasgow . In 1970 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists, initially in category B. The upgrade to the highest monument category A took place in 1988.

description

It was completed in 1857, based on a design by the eminent Scottish architect Charles Wilson , who built it in conjunction with the adjacent Queen's Rooms . The three-story buildings stand on La Belle Place south of the Park District . They are designed in the classical Italianate style .

The detailing of the north-facing main facades is largely identical. 4–5 La Belle Place is slightly lower due to the falling ground. Both buildings are mirror-symmetrical and divided into two residential units. The entrance doors are accessible via short front stairs. They are designed with pilasters and window frames and close with semicircular shell ornaments. On the outer axes, the windows are coupled to form triplet windows. On the ground floor and the first floor, they close with floral motifs in semicircular arches, creating the impression of Venetian windows . At building 2–3 La Belle Place, beveled, three-story cantilevers emerge on the outer axes . The roofs are covered with slate.
