Lists on the subject

2B14 Podnos is an 82mm Soviet-made mortar that fires the same ammunition as the 2B9 mortar. The mortar was developed primarily for fighting soldiers, weapons technology and to provide support for motorized units on the battlefield.

history

The mortar was developed by the design office of the Gorky engineering factory . The 2B14 was tested in the Afghan war .

In 1984 the mortar officially entered service in the Soviet Army. For its transport and the associated ammunition, the vehicle with the designation 2I27 on the basis of a UAZ-469 was used.

Later a self-propelled gun based on the MT-LB with the designation 2K21-2 was developed. The successor version, which is still in use today in the Russian army, is called 2K32 , while the mortar is called 2B24. The mortar with the ammunition was housed in the cabin.

description

The scheme of the mortar is similar to that of a supposed triangle and the barrel of the mortar is smooth.

The base plate has a round shape and is made of stamped and welded steel. It can be disassembled into three parts for transport.
