2MASS J14385498-1309103 is a brown dwarf in the constellation Libra, about 80 light-years from Earth . It was published in 2000 by J. Davy Kirkpatrick et al. discovered.
It belongs to the spectral class L3; its surface temperature is 1300 to 2000 Kelvin . As with other brown dwarfs of the spectral class L, metal hydrides and alkali metals also dominate in its spectrum . Its position shifts by 0.16216 arc seconds annually due to its own motion .
