The 3A Assegnatari Associati Arborea Soc. Coop. agr. p. A. (Market appearance Latte Arborea ) is an Italian dairy company based in Arborea . She is in the form of a cooperative organization and processes the raw milk of some 300 affiliated dairy farmers to milk , various cheeses such as fresh , brush , soft , semi-hard and hard cheese , butter , cream and yoghurt under the brand Latte Arborea sold .
3A sources around 90 percent of all cow milk production in the Sardinia region and processes over 200 million liters of raw milk annually. The company employs more than 220 people and in 2008 generated sales of around 138 million euros.
history
The Assegnatari Associati Arborea cooperative was founded in 1956 in the city of the same name and developed into the mainstay of the economy of the former moorland in the province of Oristano , which was drained in the 1920s . Increasing cattle breeding and the corresponding increase in milk production in the post-war years as well as the land and agrarian reform in the early 1950s led to the need for a central milk processing organization. This was created in 1956 with the establishment of the Assegnatari Associati Arborea. As a result, the company developed over the years to become the most important dairy company in Sardinia.
