An ensemble of residential buildings is located at 6–19 Woodside Crescent in the Scottish city ​​of Glasgow . In 1970, the building was included as a single monument in the Scottish monument lists, initially in category B. The upgrade to the highest monument category A took place in 1986. Furthermore, the row of buildings is part of a more comprehensive monument ensemble of category A.

history

The building was named Britannia Place in 1831. The Scottish architect George Smith was responsible for the design in collaboration with John Baird . House number 19 was redesigned in 1890 and a wash house was added to the rear in 1899. The work was planned by Robert Thomson . Buildings number nine and ten were restored before 1975.

The row of buildings is on the eastern edge of Kelvingrove Park . The building group 1–22 Woodside Terrace connects to the western end. The two- to three-storey, classical- style building row is led in an arch. The main facades of the individual houses are each three axes wide. With the exception of house numbers 14 and 15, the facades on the ground floor are rusticated . A window cornice runs above it . Short steps lead to the entrance doors on the right. At the paired entrance area of ​​house numbers 14 and 15, the entrance doors are designed with Doric columns, frieze and balcony. Some of the buildings close with stone balustrades . The roofs are covered with slate.
