Lists on the subject |
The cartridge 7.5 mm Schweizer Ordonnanz M82 is the cartridge of the Swiss Ordonnanzrevolver model 1882/29 . This was a simplified but more powerful variant of the original M1882 revolver. The cartridge is identical to the Swedish 7.5 mm Nagant M1887 revolver cartridge.
development
This revolver cartridge was developed by Rudolf Schmidt and Eduard Rubin . Schmidt had already developed the M1882 revolver, and both of them jointly developed the Schmidt-Rubin orderly rifle .
The original cartridges had a lead bullet with paper liner . In 1886 the military introduced a new bullet with a full copper jacket without lids, which improved the cartridge's ballistics.
use
The cartridge was used both militarily and civilly. Civilian cartridges kept the lead bullet after 1886, but also waived the paper liner.
