Emil Ruh

Emil Ruh (born April 28, 1884 in Adliswil , Canton of Zurich ; † March 25, 1946 there ) was a Swiss composer , conductor and music publisher . He also composed under the pseudonym A. Bucher .

First he completed an apprenticeship as a music composer in Zurich . He then studied at the local conservatory with Volkmar Andreae , Lothar Kempter and Ernst Isler . As a conductor and composer, he primarily devoted himself to amateur brass music . In 1908 he founded his own publishing house , in which works by well-known Swiss brass music composers have been published.
