The A605 road ( English for road A605 ) is only designated as a primary route from Thrapston to Peterborough , which extends the A45 road coming from Birmingham parallel to the River Nene towards Wisbech .

From its western beginning at the A14 road (junction 13), the isolated 56.5 km long A605 leads in a north-easterly direction to the end of the A1 (M) west of Peterborough. East of the city, the road, no longer a primary route, continues via Whittlesey to the A141 road , which in turn joins the A47 road at Guyhirn .
