Today's A80 road ( English for road A80 ) is the 10.6 km long remnant of the important connection from Glasgow to Stirling that remained after the opening of the M80 motorway , which ends today at Moodiesburn at the junction of the M80 with the M73 motorway . The road runs as Cumbernauld Road from the A8 road over the M8 motorway and through Stepps and Muirhead . It is not designated as a primary route.
