AAU-Cubesat 2 (also AAUSAT-II ) is a Danish technology testing and amateur radio satellite .

Structure and Mission

AAU-Cubesat 2 was developed and built by students from Ålborg University Center . It is a pico satellite and was built according to the Cubesat architecture. It consists of a Cubesat unit (1U). The satellite served the training of students, the space testing of a gamma ray detector with cadmium zinc telluride and the commissioning of a digipeater for two-way connections by radio amateurs .

It was launched on April 28, 2008 with an Indian PSLV rocket along with the main payload Cartosat-2A and the satellites CanX 2 , CUTE-1.7 + APD II , Delfi-C3 , COMPASS-1 , SEEDS 2 and Rubin 8 from Satish Dhawan Space Center launched into a low earth orbit .

Its COSPAR designation is 2008-021F.
