The ABC streets  are street names in different cities.

Hamburg

ABC-Straße is a street in Hamburg's Neustadt district and runs at right angles from Gänsemarkt to the Caffamacherreihe . There it ends near the old Gängeviertel .

The ABC-Straße is one of the oldest documented street names in Hamburg and was first mentioned in 1620. This means that the documentary mention is older than that of the Jungfernstieg or the Gänsemarkt .

ABC street 47

The name of the street comes from the fact that the individual houses in the street were originally designated with letters in alphabetical order. When the Senate ordered the introduction of street names, the street with the letter houses was given the name ABC Street . Today, however, the houses have numbers.

There is a side street off ABC-Straße called Neue ABC-Straße .

Under monument protection is u. a. the house number 47. It is the front wing of the former poor house and was built in 1898/99 according to plans of the building construction work of the building deputation under building director Zimmermann .

ABC-Straße is also the headquarters of Google Germany GmbH . The pub “Die Palette”, which served as a template for Hubert Fichte 's novel of the same name, was also located in ABC-Straße 55 until the building was demolished .

Wismar

ABC-Straße in Wismar is located near the St. Nikolai Church and connects the Schweinsbrücke with Altböterstraße. In the list of architectural monuments in Wismar, there are two architectural monuments in ABC-Straße.

Bochum

In downtown Bochum , ABC-Straße connects Westring with Viktoriastraße. It got its name in 1877 after a Catholic elementary school formerly located there, called the ABC school.

Netherlands

There is also an ABC straat in Brunssum and Utrecht .
