ABC education and conference center
The ABC Education and Conference Center eV is a provider of political education with its own conference center in Drochtersen -Hüll and the association's headquarters in Hamburg .
history
The association was founded in Hamburg in 1979, and in 1980 work began on converting a rest yard into a seminar house. This is housed in a former farm and is located in the Kehdinger Land , a region within the Stade / Cuxhaven district .

The purpose of the ABC Education and Conference Center eV is primarily the promotion of emancipatory education and upbringing, this purpose is realized through measures of political youth and educational work such as seminars, workshops, discussion and other educational events. The ABC is a recognized agency of the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the agency for child and youth welfare . The combination of political or social issues in connection with media such as theater, photography and film is characteristic of the ABC's approach.
Projects
In 2014, together with the film production company DirectorsCut and the Hüller Medienwerkstatt eV association, a start was made to combine political education projects with professional film production. It began in 2014 with the inclusive short film project Hotel California, which was awarded the integration prize of the Lower Saxony Lotto Sport Foundation. Then the story of the film was told and the short film was turned into a full-length film (BIG EARTH (Hotel California)). For the film and education project BIG EARTH, in which the second part was created, the ABC was awarded the German Child and Youth Welfare Prize (Praxispreis) 2018.
