The company offers a variety of building services, from janitorial and cleaning services to maintenance and planning services. Green areas and parking lots are also maintained by ABM Industries. ABM Industries has customers in the industrial, educational and healthcare sectors. Airports are also looked after and aircraft are cleaned and on- board catering is supplied.
In 1909, Morris Rosenberg began cleaning dealerships in San Francisco. His initial investment was $ 4.5 for a bucket, sponge, and mop. On his first day, he made $ 3.5 in revenue. Rosenberg expanded his business and expanded it to include complete caretaker services. In 1913, his company takes the name of A merican B uilding M aintenance Company . This was followed by the opening of offices in Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle. When ABM opened its first office on the east coast of the United States in New York City in 1933, ABM already had 1,500 employees. At the company's 50th anniversary in 1959, ABM had 6,000 employees in offices in 45 US cities. Since 1965, the company's shares have been traded on the American Stock Exchange .
