AB Felix

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AB Felix is a former Swedish company from Eslöv (AB = aktiebolaget = public limited company).

In 1868 the company Löw & Felix was founded in Znojmo (now the Czech Republic ) and the first canning factory for pickled cucumbers was built. The company flourished and cucumbers from Znojmo were exported to all of Europe . In 1939 the descendant Herbert Felix had to emigrate to Sweden and built AB Felix there. Pickled cucumbers were the starting point again, but the range was quickly expanded significantly. When the Allies withdrew from Austria in 1955 , Bruno Kreisky encouraged his cousin Herbert Felix to invest in Austria and in 1959 the Felix Austria company was founded in Mattersburg in Burgenland; The main products were canned meat and vegetables, as well as ketchup .

The Felix brand is continued today by the Procordia Group.
