The company was founded in 1923 and traded under the ACAZ name from 1925. In the English-speaking world, the company was called ZACCO.

In 1924, Professor Emile Allard , together with Alfred Renard, designed the first Belgian all-metal aircraft, the high- wing ACAZ T-2 . However, it was unsuccessful.

Several prototypes for the Belgian SABCA followed before trying to get into the military aircraft business in 1928 with the reconnaissance aircraft ACAZ C.2 . The prototype was tested but not ordered by the Belgian army.

The global economic crisis led the company into difficulties and so it finally had to close its doors in 1933.
